Kanye West Announces Three Volumes Of ‘Vultures’ And The New Release Dates

Do you believe it? Do we believe it? But most importantly, does he believe it? It seems so. Kanye has returned to talk about his music, announcing 3 volumes of Vultures, the anticipated joint album with Ty Dolla $ign. Talk of this album began in September when it seemed possible that Ye could present it in Italy, at Campovolo. However, bureaucracy got in the way, and everything fell through.

The rapper, along with Ty, initially announced a series of listening parties in stadiums (which did not happen) and later held a couple of surprise events in Miami in December. The album was initially postponed from mid-December to the 31st, then given a new date (not honored) on January 12.

Now, after a few weeks of silence, here’s the new announcement (spoiled first by designer Goša Rubčinskij): there will be three volumes of Vultures, released on February 9, March 8, and April 5, respectively. For the first time, a video trailer for the album directed by artist and filmmaker Jon Rafman has also been released.

Dua Lipa Describes Britpop Bands As Hateful. Liam Gallagher Responds: “Jealous”

Liam Gallagher responded to a comment from Dua Lipa about Britpop bands. In an interview with Rolling Stone,  the “Houdini” singer recently discussed the musical influences of her upcoming album, including bands like Blur and Oasis. She added a personal touch to it, though.

In the interview, Dua hinted that the new album would channel the “I don’t care” attitude of Oasis and Blur. The interviewer mentioned that Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn hadn’t been very kind to female artists in the past. Dua responded that, although she hadn’t met them personally, “sometimes you have to separate the art from the person.”

“I’m connected to the musical element. The way they behaved, the things they did, are definitely hateful. That’s their way,” she added. “If they hadn’t been like that, they would have been seen as boring, and I think that’s a terrible way to see things,” she continued.

On Twitter, the former Oasis frontman Liam was inevitably asked about it. His concise response was, “She’s just jealous.”

Donald Trump Used The Smiths’ Music At His Rallies, And Johnny Marr Doesn’t Buy It

Yes, it’s indeed a song by The Smiths playing in the background at a pro-Trump rally in Rapid City, South Dakota, while attendees wait for the former President of the United States to take the stage. We’re talking about “Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want,” written in 1984 by The Smiths’ frontman, Morrissey, and guitarist Johnny Marr.

The video comes from a tweet by user @SooRinKimm, which quickly went viral, stating: “It may seem strange, but The Smiths are heard much more than you think at Trump rallies in 2024” (the video dates back to 2023, and, along with the caption, indicates a recurring event over time). Marr’s response was not long in coming and, through X, he stated:

Ahh…right…OK. I never in a million years would’ve thought this could come to pass. Consider this shit shut right down right now“. This is the caption of the tweet, promising immediate action to Marr and The Smiths’ fans to prevent Trump & staff from using songs like this again.

The case may seem curious, but it’s not the first time it has happened, and Donald Trump is always involved. Adele, Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Rolling Stones, Queen, Pharrell Williams, Prince and David Bowie’s heirs have all pointed out in the past that the association of their music with Trump’s politics was not exactly welcome. In some cases, as with Tom Petty and the Stones, the action has been taken to a legal level, although it seems that the injunctions have not always been respected.

Amy Winehouse’s Unseen Journey: ‘In My Bed’ Lyric Video Reveals 2004 Footage

A fresh lyric video for Amy Winehouse‘s ‘In My Bed,’ a track from her 2003 debut album ‘Frank,’ has been released, featuring previously unseen footage from its 2004 video shoot.

Uploaded to Winehouse’s official YouTube page on January 23, the video is composed of outtakes from the original filming directed by Paul Gore in 2004. In this lyric video for ‘In My Bed,’ viewers witness a 20-year-old Winehouse casually navigating a hotel lobby with a guitar case, occasionally blending into a backing band of musicians in a ballroom. It’s worth noting that, since this footage predates her ‘Back To Black’ era, Winehouse is not adorned with her signature beehive hairdo.

Watch Travis Scott And Emily Ratajkowski Flirt In The Video For ‘I Know?’

Travis Scott failed to make a lasting mark in history with his highly anticipated album, Utopia, released last summer. What was supposed to be the Yeezus of his generation turned out to be nothing more than a decent album with more or less interesting aspects.

This doesn’t mean that Travis didn’t achieve some successes. In terms of numbers, Utopia performed well. It lacked the standout track to flirt with algorithms, but there’s no room for complaints. Even in terms of the guests to feature in his latest video, things didn’t go too bad.

Six months after the release of Utopia, Travis Scott returned behind the camera for the video of “I Know?“, co-directed, of course, by his loyal collaborator Dave Meyers. In this video, the rapper simultaneously navigates two romantic relationships: on one side, with one of the world’s most recognized models, Emily Ratajkowski, and on the other, with Anok Yai.

Frank Farian, Founder Of Boney M. And Milli Vanilli, Has Passed Away

Frank Farian, founder of Boney M. and “creator” of Milli Vanilli, has died at the age of 82 in his home in Miami, Florida. The family announced the news through a social media post.

Frank Farian founded Boney M. in 1974, becoming its producer and songwriter. He is the one who signed songs like ‘Daddy Cool’ and ‘Rasputin,’ which were later brought to success by the group. The German musician also formed the supergroup Far Corporation, collaborated with Meat Loaf, and, as mentioned, invented Milli Vanilli. Farian’s involvement with Milli Vanilli is a tale. The musician wrote and produced the duo’s songs, but had them sung by other people. At the height of their success, he orchestrated an event that exposed the two official members of the project – Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus – revealing that they were performing by lip-syncing.

The Resonance Of Barbie’s Tunes Echo At The 96th Oscars

The 96th Academy Awards promise a musical feast as two enchanting melodies from the world of “Barbie” grace the nominations list. Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell’s “What Was I Made For?” and Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt’s “I’m Just Ken” emerge as standout contenders, selected by the discerning 390 members of the Academy’s music branch.

The decision-making process proved challenging, with only two out of the three shortlisted “Barbie” songs making the cut. Dua Lipa’sDance the Night” completes the trio, but Academy rules dictated that only a pair could advance to the nominations. As the front-runners, the “Barbie” compositions are poised for Oscar glory, with Eilish and O’Connell having previously won for 2021’s “No Time to Die,” and Ronson and Wyatt as part of the 2018-winning team for LadyJon Batiste Gaga’s “Shallow.”

Standing alongside these luminous tunes are formidable competitors, including Jon Batiste and Dan Wilson’s “It Never Went Away” from “American Symphony,” Diane Warren’s “The Fire Inside” from “Flamin’ Hot,” and Scott George’s Native American chant, “Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People),” from “Killers of the Flower Moon.”

The score nominations unveil a captivating blend of experience and new voices. Ludwig Göransson, a prior Oscar winner for “Black Panther,” secures his third nomination for “Oppenheimer.” A poignant moment arises with the posthumous nomination of Robbie Robertson for his work on “Killers of the Flower Moon.” In a groundbreaking move, Laura Karpman’s jazzy “American Fiction” score earns her a historic first Oscar nomination, making her the fifth woman recognized for composing original dramatic music for the screen.

The legendary John Williams, at 91 years old, continues to etch his name in history with his 54th nomination for “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.” Meanwhile, English composer Jerskin Fendrix makes a striking debut with his first Oscar nomination for the film score of “Poor Things.”

As the 2024 Academy Awards unfold on March 10, an air of excitement surrounds the unexpected twists and turns in the nominations, promising a night where the magic of music takes center stage.

Drawing inspiration from eclectic sources such as 17th-century Italian clown Pierrot, fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli, and Donna Summer, the character promises to be a multi-faceted exploration of identity and expression.

Εγώ σ’ αγάπησα εδώ
Που να ‘σαι τώρα που γυρνάς
Σε ποιο καινούργιο ουρανό χρώματα κλέβεις;
Ένιωσες πάλι τα φτερά
Τι σου ‘βαλε ξανά φωτιά
Σε ποιο λιμάνι, ποιο σταθμό, καρδιά γυρεύεις;
